AYLUS Pearland Donation Drive to Support Families in Mexico, November 19, 2022

From November 1 to November 19, 2022, AYLUS Pearland hosted a donation drive to support families in Mexico. Volunteers collected many items in good condition and dropped them off at designated locations. In addition to the items we usually collect, including clothing and shoes for adults and kids, school supplies, bed and bedding supplies, small appliances, and toys, etc., we also collected candies left over from Halloween and items to make Homeless care packages (band-aids, new socks/clothes, canned food, individually wrapped snacks, feminine hygiene items (new in box), travel size toothpaste, toothbrush, etc.). Homeless care packages will be distributed locally during the holiday season. The other collected items will be sent to Mexico to support families in need. We have also been in touch with an orphanage near the US-Mexico border and will deliver some items there for the kids. In total, AYLUS collected over 2,000 items to donate to people in Mexico.

Either one or two service hours were assigned to the donors and other volunteers based on the number of donated items, the time spent to prepare and deliver the items to one of the five drop off locations, as well as designing, managing, recording, receiving, and loading donated items.
