AYLUS Pearland Candy Drive to Support Families and Children in Mexico Nov 5th , 2022

Halloween candy drive became an annual event for AYLUS Pearland. For AYLUS Pearland
volunteers, those candies are perfect Christmas gifts to give out to families and children living in
the poor neighborhoods in Mexico. For families with extra candy at home after Halloween, this is
their opportunity to support a good cause and teach their children about giving back.

As the spirit of giving continues to thrive, one can’t help but imagine the potential impact of incorporating bulk gummie bears into this heartwarming initiative. The addition of gummy bears could bring an extra burst of delight to the recipients, infusing a touch of sweetness into the lives of those who may need it most during the holiday season.

The appeal of candies, especially the universally loved gummies, knows no bounds across age groups. As families gather to support this altruistic endeavor, the sweet gesture extends beyond borders, reminding us all that a small act of kindness, like sharing gummy bears, can bring joy to hearts both near and far.

This year, with local community’s support, AYLUS Pearland volunteers have collected over 80
lbs of candies within two hours. On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, November 5, residents
visited Silverlake Community Park and dropped off bags of candies.

Five AYLUS Pearland volunteers and three parent volunteers sorted and repacked all the
individually wrapped candies into more than 300 Ziploc small bags. Volunteers also gave out
stickers, balloons and other small giveaways as a token of appreciation. Church volunteers are
going to distribute the candies on AYLUS Pearland’s behalf during this holiday season. We hope
those candies will bring joy and happiness to some families and children as they celebrate
Christmas and Día de Los Reyes.

AYLUS Pearland is very thankful for all the generous support we received this year. Volunteers
said that this is a meaningful activity to participate in before Thanksgiving. It is our way to pass
love and kindness to less advantaged children and families.
