On July 31, 2022, twenty-two members of the AYLUS Bellaire Branch volunteered at the Nature Discovery Center for park maintenance from 9-11am.
The Nature Discovery Center in Russ Pitman Park provides many educational programs to foster appreciation for nature among people of all ages. The AYLUS Bellaire members volunteered at the center for the fifth time for park maintenance and beautification. Volunteers helped pull out weeds, take out the trash, and clean the park’s trail. Some volunteers also helped refill food and water for the animals, which include rabbits, opossums, turtles, snakes, pigeons, and several insects. In addition, volunteers helped clean the guinea pig cages.
