During the second week of January, AYLUS San Diego Branch volunteers continued their Humanities Challenge Camp Program. The program allows volunteers to provide English/Chinese reading, writing, speaking, and communication to their students, and also to teach students history or foreign languages such as Spanish.
They had conversations over Zoom or Facetime, teaching students about topics they are interested in, such as movies, games, and school. Volunteers placed an emphasis on helping their students grow accustomed to speaking and writing in the taught language. Their language challenge camp activities included:

Ryan Hua tutored Darren Cui, Tristan Shi, and Max Zhang on Asian History on Sunday, 1/16, for an hour and a half.
Austin Pierce tutored Max Zhang, Eva Mather, Linda Yang, and Alice Yang on 5th grade English Reading & Writing on Saturday, 1/15, for an hour and a half.
In total, there were 9 participants in this event, with 2 volunteers.
The AYLUS San Diego Committee organized the 95th online Challenge Camp activity on the second week of January.
