East Cobb Branch Holds Senior English Tutoring in October, 2021

Isabel Liu from the East Cobb Branch participated in the English Tutoring Program and contributed 4 hours throughout October 2021.

The purpose of this program is to provide a free learning service to help the elderly in the community who are unfamiliar with English. The volunteers met with seniors in one-on-one sessions. By meeting individually to improve their language, we hope to help them communicate and interact with others in a better manner.

I tutored using Zoom meetings, one day a week. I read the Bible and focused mainly on pronunciation and foreign words.

The lessons have been beneficial and consistent, and I’m glad to have been able to help someone learn something new. The elder I worked with has been gradually improving her pronunciation, and in addition, study the stories and messages from the Bible.
