Aug 10, 2021 East Cobb Branch Local Elections Text Banking

On August 10th, AYLUS members volunteered for the voter registration initiative organized by the Center for Pan Asian Community Services (CPACS).  In the beginning, Tiffany Garnace from CPACS gave an orientation about the organization and explained how to reach out to potential voters. Then we began texting and sending messages. For over an hour, eight volunteers (including me) sent tens of thousands of texts to people, urging them to register for the upcoming local and national elections. We also interacted with many voters by answering their questions, explaining, and providing more information. In the end, Tiffany led a debriefing session to discuss our experiences and reviewed some questions/answers we encountered from the voters. It was the first time for some members to participate in this voter outreach initiative, and it was an excellent experience for us.
