On Saturday March 20, AYLUS Pearland attended the Plant a Tree Day event hosted by Keep Pearland Beautiful and sponsored by Aramco. The goal of KPB’s event was to plant 1000 native tree species including oak, maple, pine, and cedar along the walking trail at the John Hargrove Environment Complex.
During the event, AYLUS members, junior members parents and some young siblings, totaling 95 people, worked hard alongside other Pearland community members. Volunteers first moved the heavy trees to pre-dug holes, removed the container, leveled the hole with some mulch, placed the tree in, covered the hole with soil and mulch at the side, and watered the tree using water from the nearby lake using buckets. The volunteers split into teams of three to five, and with everyone working hard, the AYLUS team planted over 300 trees in four and a half hours. With the help of this Alpharetta tree service, every trees were maintained to a good shape till date.
