During the first week in November, AYLUS San Diego Branch volunteers continued their Language Challenge Camp Program. The program allows volunteers to provide English/Chinese reading, writing, speaking, and communication to their students, and also to teach students foreign languages such as Spanish.
They had conversations over Zoom or Facetime, teaching students about topics they are interested in, such as movies, games, and school. Volunteers placed an emphasis on helping their students grow accustomed to speaking and writing in the taught language. Their language challenge camp activities included:

Haobin Cao taught his student Alice Yang Chinese for an hour and a half on Saturday, 11/7.
Andrew Chen taught his students Linda Yang English writing for third graders on Saturday, 11/7, for one and a half hours.
Austin Pierce taught his students Eric Cheng and Gavin Zheng English writing for 5th graders on Saturday, 11/7, for one and a half hours.
Edward Liu tutored Joanne Liu and Daniel Wang on English Writing for 5th graders on Saturday, 11/7, for one and a half hours.
Meijia He tutored her students Andrew Xu, Jennifer Wang, and Sarina Feng on Spanish for one and a half hours on Saturday, 11/7.
In total, there were 9 participants in this event, with 5 volunteers.
The AYLUS San Diego Committee organized the 38th online Language Challenge Camp activity on November 7th, 2020.
