San Diego Branch Organized 41st Computer for Kids Lab on August 31st, 2018

On August 31st, 2018, students from the San Diego Branch of AYLUS organized and participated in the 41st Computer for Kids Lab, repairing and cleaning electronic devices in order to prepare them to send to children of low-income families. This helps the kids achieve academic success through possible access to technology.

The participants did the following:

  • 26 Monitor Tested & Cleaned and Prepared for Distribution
  • 27 Batteries Sorted
  • 136 Hard Drives Removed from Servers & Caddies
  • 73 Keyboards Sorted
  • 747 VGA, D VI & Power Cords Sorted

So far, the San Diego branch students have accomplished the following since the first Computer for Kids Lab of this year:

  • Diagnosed, repaired, tested, or sleeved 3,791 notebooks/netbooks/laptops/tablets/desktops
  • Tested and repaired 167 LCD monitors
  • Diagnosed, tested, wiped, counted, and cloned 3,328 hard drives
  • Wrapped, folded, sorted, and packed 8,511 mice/keyboards/power cords/adaptors/batteries
  • Tested and Bagged 125 Speakers

The following volunteers participated: Jonathan Backues, Annie Bian, William Lai, Tianhua Li, William Sun, Michael Wang, Gary Wu, Richard Wu, Kyne Xie, Eric Xu, Jason Xu, Ricky Xu, Nathan Yang, Andrew Zhang (8), Joanna Zhang, Spencer Zhang, and Brian Zhu.

The AYLUS San Diego Committee organized the 41st Computer for Kids Lab.
