AYLUS Great Neck Branch Volunteers for Therapeutic Ice Skating 40th (11/1/26)

On Sunday, November 1, three volunteers from AYLUS continued their ongoing commitment to the Great Neck Park District Skate School’s Therapeutic Skating Program by providing guidance and support to young skaters at the rink.

From 2:15 to 3:15 p.m., each volunteer worked with the skaters to help them learn new skills and practice their techniques. Through fun and engaging games, our volunteers introduced new skaters to basic skating skills, helping them build confidence and become more comfortable on the ice.

The program not only helps participants develop their skating abilities but also builds confidence both on and off the ice. Our volunteers share the joy of skating with the students and, in return, experience the tremendous fulfillment of watching them transform from being afraid to step onto the ice to confidently gliding across the rink with excitement and smiles.
