AYLUS Syosset organized its seventh community basketball event of 2026 on October 18 at Syosset-Woodbury Community Park. The event began with basic basketball training for participants of all ages from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, followed by a group photo. From 10:00 to 11:00 AM, participants took part in group scrimmages, while younger children could enjoy free play under parental supervision. From 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, attendees could optionally join a post-training gathering, bring their own lunch, and play logic and deduction games without electronic devices. The activity encouraged young people to spend less time on screens and more time exercising and socializing outdoors.
Youth volunteers Gary (17), Rick (16), Keji (16), and Danny (14) helped lead basketball training and support the event. Other participants included Dex (11), Simon (11), David, Tony, Brian (11), Vincent (11), and Felix (11). Through sports, teamwork, and face-to-face interaction, the event provided a positive opportunity for young people to develop basketball skills, build friendships, and engage with the local community.
