On June 7, 2026, four AYLUS Pearland volunteers conducted a community tennis lesson as part of the ongoing Achieve Together program. This session marked the first class of the summer season.
The volunteers began the lesson with a series of dynamic stretches and warm-up exercises to prepare the students for physical activity. Participants were then divided into two groups based on skill level and assigned to separate courts. Beginner students focused on developing fundamental tennis skills, including forehand and backhand strokes, as well as proper footwork techniques. More advanced students worked on higher-level skills and strategies, such as volleys, serves, and point construction.
The lesson concluded with a fitness-oriented game, followed by static stretching exercises designed to help prevent injuries, reduce muscle soreness, and improve flexibility.
A total of 14 students attended the class.
Volunteers (1.5 hours): Wyatt Yin, Will Wang
Volunteers (1 hour): Sean Luan, Brian Zhang
