On Sunday, May 3, volunteers from the Alyus Therapeutic Skating Program gathered at the Andrew Stergiopoulos Ice Rink for an afternoon of mentorship and skill-building for the young skaters. From 2:15 to 3:15 p.m., each volunteer was paired with a young skater to provide personalized, one-on-one guidance.
The mission was to provide a supportive environment where every child felt secure while exploring new techniques on the ice. Through patient encouragement, the volunteers helped the skaters build the confidence to take risks safely. By the conclusion of the session, the progress was visible as the children can confidently demonstrated skills and skate independently. It was an inspiring and friendly event for both the participants and the volunteers.
