AYLUS GC Volunteers Support the Friends of the Garden City Library 10/23/2026

AYLUS Garden City volunteers spent time supporting the Friends of the Garden City Library through several hands-on tasks that help keep the library’s book sale operations organized and accessible to the community.

Sophia and Daniel transported donated books downstairs, restocked the library’s “For Sale” shelves, and helped organize books for visitors to browse. These tasks supported the ongoing work of the Friends of the Garden City Library in managing donated books and making them available to community members.

In addition to the physical work, Sophia took the lead in redesigning the library’s website using the Wix platform. This project gave her an opportunity to apply her technology and website-design skills to support a local community organization.

Several members of the Friends of the Garden City Library were present to observe the students’ work. The volunteers demonstrated initiative by contributing to both the library’s day-to-day needs and its digital presence, making this a productive opportunity to serve the community while applying practical skills.
