On January 14, Newtown AYLUS members returned to Doylestown Hospital for another patient transport shift. Volunteers assisted patients moving between departments and supported discharge procedures to help patients leave the hospital safely.
Throughout the event, volunteers worked alongside hospital staff to maintain an organized and efficient environment. By escorting patients and offering guidance, they helped ease the workload of nurses and technicians while improving the overall patient experience.
The experience reinforced the importance of compassion, communication, and responsibility in healthcare settings. Volunteers gained a deeper understanding of how support roles contribute to quality patient care.
Volunteers: Eric Chen (Event Leader), and Aaron Temmer. Each volunteer contributed 3 hours.
