On November 23rd, 2025, AYLUS Syosset held its 21st volunteer-led basketball activity at the Syosset-Woodbury Community Park courts (11791). Volunteers guided children of mixed ages through one hour of fundamental drills—dribbling, passing, and shooting—followed by structured scrimmage games for participants aged six and up with basic skills. Younger children played nearby under parental supervision. After 11:00 AM, families gathered for an outdoor community lunch featuring barbecue and hotpot, encouraging offline social interaction and teamwork among kids and parents.
The session was supported by youth volunteers Gary (16), Rick (15), and Danny (13). Participants included Dex (10), Loewe (12), Vincent (11), Matthew (11), Naomi (7), and Ian (8). Several families contributed food and equipment, and volunteers spent approximately three hours in advance shopping and preparing ingredients for the barbecue and hotpot. The weather was mild, and both the basketball activity and the shared lunch provided a positive, energetic, and community-building experience for all attendees.
