On Sunday, November 2nd, AYLUS Syosset and Roslyn joined together to meet at the Bayville Cerebral Palsy center. While both branches attend cerebral palsy homes, this specific center is the perfect opportunity for branch collaborations to happen. We started off the day with playing hangman on the whiteboard, where we chose seasonal themes for everyone to guess. This activity is one of the simplest ways to get all residents participating and excited for our activities. Following hangman, we usually do a more active activity, which usually happens to be bowling. Assisted bowling is one of the best sports for these residents who often have limited mobile capabilities, as simply pushing the ball to hit all the pins is a task that everyone can complete. After we finished bowling, the last activity was playing Jeopardy on the TV, which staff are also welcome to join in on! After we completed all activities, we helped wheel the residents to enjoy lunch, wrapping up a successful day.
