On October 19, 2025, a heartwarming Give-Back Music Concert was held at CareOne at Livingston, bringing together residents, staff, and families for an afternoon filled with classical music and community spirit. The event was co-organized by William Sun, a ninth-grade student at Newark Academy and a committee chair at AYLUS West Essex Branch, and Ms. Jennifer Storms, Recreation Director at CareOne Livingston. With the full support of the AYLUS West Essex Branch, the volunteers shared their time and musical talents to bring joy and comfort to the residents.
The concert featured a variety of classical piano and violin performances, creating a warm and uplifting atmosphere that promoted emotional well-being and social engagement among attendees. The volunteers collaborated closely with the CareOne staff to ensure a meaningful and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Performers included:
William Sun (piano): Étude, Op. 10, No. 5 – F. Chopin
Leonardo Yuan (piano): Sonata in E minor, Movement 3 – J. Haydn
Jessica Hao (violin): Méditation from Thaïs – J. Massenet
Yaming Wang (violin): Concerto in A Minor, 1st Movement – J.S. Bach
At the end of the concert, the volunteers received certificates of appreciation in recognition of their dedication and musical contributions.
The AYLUS West Essex Branch continues to support the community through artistic and service-based initiatives, demonstrating how music can inspire connection, compassion, and joy across generations.
