On Sunday, September 20, 2026, AYLUS Twin Cities Members volunteered at the Asia Mall to celebrate the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, an important cultural holiday in the Chinese community. The AYLUS members volunteered during two sessions:
- 12:00pm – 3:00pm – Joey Nordgaard
- 3:45pm – 5:45pm – Megan Wang, Helen Liu
We represented AYLUS at the Culture Booth, introducing visitors to Chinese traditions, culture and ways to learn Chinese. We facilitated two games: ring tossing (套圈) and arrow shooting (投箭). We also engaged children and families in conversations about Chinese culture and shared information about Chinese learning opportunities in the Twin Cities. The games we offered drew in a large number of kids and several parents to play, and they came with prizes at the end. It was very rewarding for volunteers to hear families express interest in learning Chinese and Chinese traditions. It was also fun to see a lot of other friends volunteering at different booths.
