The AYLUS Morris Branch continued its mission of community service by partnering with Helping Hands to organize a Halloween costume collection drive for families in need. This initiative aimed to bring joy and inclusivity to children who might otherwise be unable to celebrate the holiday due to financial hardships.
AYLUS members set up a collection station at a local gym, encouraging community members to donate new or gently used Halloween costumes. Through the generosity of local residents and the dedication of volunteers, the branch successfully collected 16 costumes of various sizes and themes, ensuring that children could experience the fun and excitement of Halloween regardless of circumstance.
Once the collection period ended, members worked together to sort, pack, and label the costumes, ensuring each donation was clean, organized, and ready for distribution. The team then delivered the packed costumes to the Helping Hands collection site on October 20th at 2:00 PM, where the donations would be distributed to families across the local area.
This event not only provided tangible support to underrepresented families but also fostered a sense of community and kindness among youth volunteers. By combining teamwork, creativity, and compassion, the AYLUS Morris Branch demonstrated the power of small efforts in making a big difference.
Through this partnership with Helping Hands, AYLUS continues to inspire young leaders to serve others and spread joy—especially during meaningful moments like Halloween, where every child deserves to feel included and celebrated.
