On Saturday 9/20/25, members of AYLUS Syosset went to Eisenhower Park Field 8 to help work the weekly Farmers Market. There were three shifts with three members in each shift; 8-11AM, 9AM-1PM and 11AM-2PM. Volunteers that arrived at 8 AM helped set up for when the market opened to the public at 9 AM by setting up tents, tables and helping vendors. The ones that stayed till 2 PM helped break down the market starting from 1 PM when it closed. They took down the tents, tables and again, helped the vendors. Vendors were selling apple cider, bee/honey products, farm fresh groceries, cookies, spices and more.
Throughout the event, there were three members at the front tent constantly marking down every person that arrived which resulted in a final visitor count at the end. There was also a tent in the middle of the field for kids. The tent had various activities for the kids who came such as doing worksheets or getting stickers and tattoos. The table also had different activities celebrating the upcoming back to school season. The kids table had a section that helped inform parents about healthy meal choices and meal preps. While a volunteer educated parents on nutritional foods while promoting the fresh groceries being sold, kids and even adults of all ages played with the hula hoops, jump ropes and soccer balls. Other volunteers who did not have a designated station walked around the market helping shoppers with their bags, giving general information about the market and directing people to the Taste New York vendor that had newly moved onto the new field.
