On September 25th, the Great Neck AYLUS Branch held a tutoring session where volunteers assisted students in their homework and a variety of subjects. Benjamin Ko helped a 6th grade student complete his homework and tutored the kid in science. Ivy Li guided a student through her math homework, carefully explaining problems and strategies. Summer helped strengthen a student’s English skills by teaching her grammar and practicing filling in the blank questions. Brian helped kids do math homework in algebra. During the tutoring session, volunteers used patience and creativity to strengthen students’ understanding while fostering a comfortable learning environment. Both students and volunteers benefited from the event, both reviewing past knowledge and gaining new insights in math and english strategies. The Great Neck AYLUS Branch continues to uphold its mission of teaching in an encouraging and supportive setting.
