AYLUS Great Neck Branch Holds AAPI Event at the Main Library 32nd (9/13/25)

On Saturday, September 13th, from 3:45 – 5:00 PM, members of the Great Neck AYLUS branch hosted an event for children at the Great Neck Main Library. The activities included reading stories as well as crafts such as origami and crochet. Victoria read “Ocean Meets Sky”, Rebecca read “Goldy Luck and the Three Pandas”, and Ryder read “The Blue Bowl”. Rainie and Victoria taught crochet to the kids while Andrew made origami. Nathan and Rebecca assisted in helping the kids create animal plates, while Jolynn facilitated the creation of frogs with green clay. The event helped kids learn new skills such as crochet and find future new passions such as origami and clay making. Afterward, the volunteers and children worked together to clean up the room, taking responsibility in cleaning up after themselves. We thank those who attended and look forward to the next event.
