On September 4th, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM, at Great Neck Station Library, five volunteers gave their time to help both children and adults. These volunteers were Ivy Li, Serena Chen, Emma Ding, Baiyu Chen, and Brian Zhang. These helpers covered different subjects that their beneficiaries wanted to improve upon. Ivy spent time with a child and played with them with different activities in the library. Serena assisted an adult in practicing English, particularly her vocabulary. Emma offered to read books to a young boy who had recently moved to the United States to improve his reading. Baiyu aided a 7th grader with both English and math. Brian helped a 4th grader with math, specifically patterns in series and long division.
All volunteers gave personalized assistance in response to the needs of their learners, making valuable progress.
