On July 26th, members of the Syosset AYLUS joined the Long Island Native Plant Initiative (LINPI) to assist with their support for local environmental initiatives. Throughout the day, volunteers diligently engaged in the process of splitting mature plants and potting them to create new batches, contributing to the growth of the inventory of native species. Additionally, they assisted in preparing fresh planting soil by moistening it and enriching it with nutrients. These activities have been ongoing for the past few weeks, as informed by Pam, the site manager, who explained that this is the ideal time for such endeavors.
