The Mclean AYLUS Branch participated in the annual Chinese American section of the Washington DC independent Day parade in downtown DC. This activity took place on 07/04/2025 from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm.
With over thousands of people both in the parade and the audience, over 10 different cultures, and 200ish parade sections, we participated in the Chinese American section where we volunteered to help move a large balloon over the mile long walk. With over 10 other volunteers in the same section, we pulled a large balloon through teamwork over a mile long walk with thousands of people watching and even being on national TV. Overall, it was amazing to present our culture and activity during Independence Day, mending two distinct cultures together on this special holiday.
