The AYLUS Mclean Branch participated in the International Night Event on February 22nd, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
Reported by Anneliese Nguyen
The volunteers prepared for many hours throughout the year in order to perfect their performances and performed a variety of acts that represented different cultures. They practiced dances, songs, and musical performances ahead of time and helped set up the stage for the event. Some volunteers wore traditional clothing, while others brought props or instruments to make their performances more authentic. During the event, they performed confidently for the audience, shared the meanings behind their acts, and helped create an energetic and welcoming atmosphere. After their performances, many volunteers stayed to support others, cheer them on, and help clean up.
The following hours are calculated based on all the practice sessions combined and the performance at the end. Anneliese practiced and performed, while Emma volunteered to serve food and plan the night. The following two members participated in this event: Anneliese Nguyen (30 hours), Emma Tsao (25 hours).
