Chapel Hill Branch Bakes Cookies for Meals on Wheels on Jan 29, 2025

On Lunar New Year, which was a designated day off in the Chapel Hill School District, members of the Chapel Hill Branch decided to give back to the community by baking almost 300 cookies for Meals on Wheels, a group that helps fight hunger. Our volunteers spent the day baking from their kitchens and then carefully bagging each cookie to make it easier to distribute to seniors. The goal wasn’t just to provide food, but to spread joy by sharing sweet treats with those in need. Through this simple act of kindness, we hope to brighten the day of the seniors and inspire others in our community.

Volunteers who participated in this event are Matthew Guo (6 hrs), Karen Lin (6 hrs), Andrew Zhao (6 hrs), Owen Xie (6 hrs), Alwin Liu (4.5 hrs), Eric Sun (6 hrs), and Luna Chen  (1.5 hrs for packing).
