On October 24th, 2026, the AYLUS Oakland Gardens Branch went to P.S. 203 to assist their PTA (Parent-Teacher Association) in their clothing drive as their 360th event. The event lasted for four hours, from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm.
Our members spent most of their time hauling bags of clothes to and from the drop off zone. Instead of making the donors bring the items from their cars and other transportation methods, we decided to assist them as much as we can as a way of showing appreciation. This went on for about three of our four hours.
During the last hour, two trucks came over and we started loading the bags onto the trucks. Over the span of an hour, we filled both trucks with a total of 356 bags. We weighed all the bags, and it came together to be a total weight of 7,150.8 pounds, or around 3.5 tons.
We would like to thank the PTA of P.S. 203 for giving our members this wonderful chance at helping our community. We all had a lot of fun.
