As one partner of AYLUS Pearland, Project Rise and Shine (PRS) stated their need to build a responsive and dynamic website for the end user to understand PRS organization, PRS mission, PRS program, and RPS events. AYLUS members Andy Shi, Katherine Wu, Aila Jiang, Jonathan Niu, and Matthew Niu joined this project as volunteers starting in July 2024. Members started from scratch to build the website. In July, members researched several website builders and decided to use WIX for its database management flexibility, JavaScript support, and API support. They dedicated significant efforts to designing the front-end architecture, drafting the back-end functionalities, designing the database tables, preparing the website resources including text and photos, and processing data. At the end of July, they were able to implement the website framework prototype and deliver the home page prototype,
Job duties:
Andy Shi: architect the website framework, design front-end user interface, feed data into the database, and implement web pages.
Aila Jiang: prepare text, wording, and photos, and do the quality assurance of the website.
Katherine Wu: process data, and do the quality assurance of the website.
Jonathan Niu: do the quality assurance of the website.
Matthew Niu: do the quality assurance of the website.
