On November 1st, 2026, four volunteers from the AYLUS Great Neck Branch participated in another trail maintenance activity at Kings Point Park. The weather was pleasant, making it a good day for outdoor work.
The main task was to level the trails and improve their conditions. Volunteers used rakes and shovels to fill in tire tracks left by maintenance vehicles and smooth out uneven areas. They also removed small rocks and fallen branches from the pathways to make them easier to walk on.
Since it was autumn, many fallen leaves had accumulated along the trails. After leveling the soil, volunteers spread some leaves over the repaired areas to keep the paths looking natural. Where the leaves were too thick, they either spread them out more evenly or moved some to the sides of the trails.
Although there were only four volunteers, everyone worked together and checked each other’s work to make sure the paths were properly maintained. By the end of the activity, the trails were smoother and more organized.
Through this activity, the volunteers continued their efforts to maintain the park and improve the environment for visitors.
