The AYLUS Dix Hills Branch volunteers at Planting Fields Arboretum to help pull out vines and other invasive species. The trees in the area were already removed, so volunteers preceded to clean up the remaining plants scattered around the bottom. Volunteers used various tools like shovels, spades, and rakes to get rid of the invasive plants. Several truckloads worth of invasive species were removed, and volunteers plan to continue on in the future. Volunteers worked from 9:30 to 12:00 to help clean up the invasive plants.
