The Heart Pillow is a post-surgical operation support pillow for heart surgeries and/or other surgeries. It is heart-shaped and covered in flannel fabric. It is stuffed with fiberfill (stuffing) to allow the pillow to adjust to each patient’s comfort needs, while still maintaining the needed support required.
The volunteers need go shopping and purchase cloth, ribbon, and stuffing with their own money. they usually spent ~2-3 hours on the weekends throughout the past couple of weeks cutting the fabric, sewing the pillow, and stuffing the pillow with stuffing. After that, they need deliver these pillows to the Dignity Health Foundation, which will distribute the pillows to the ICU department before Christmas.
