On August 13, 2023, members of the AYLUS Bellaire branch volunteered for the tenth consecutive trash clean-up at Evelyn’s Park Conservancy.
From 5:30pm to 6:30pm, volunteers wore gloves and used old grocery bags to collect trash from Evelyn’s park. They frequently picked up plastic straw wrappers in the dining area. They also often picked up beverage containers and snack wrappers on the field and stairs next to the water park. In addition, one volunteer found a foot-long metal bar in the dirt next to the bus station on Bellaire Blvd.
Volunteers covered most of the park, including the sidewalk on Bellaire Blvd. They collected six bags of trash, each bag weighing between one to three pounds.
5 volunteers participated in this event (1 hour): Alexander Tang, Yuruo Shen, Daniel Wu, Owen Cheng, and Zhen Li.
