On Saturday, August 15, 2026, our volunteers hosted the 3rd science introduction class of the summer science class series. These classes are designed to provide an introduction of various science subjects that can include physics, chemistry, life science, and STEM engineering challenges. The topic of today’s class is Architecture. Same as the previous two classes, this class was offered completely free to the elementary-age children in the Pearland community.
A total of 12 students joined this class. The students had an amazing time learning basic concepts of architecture. During the 2nd half of the class, the students put their creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork skills to the test through two fun, hands-on design challenges (“who can build the tallest?” and “whose building is the strongest?”). Each challenge had a winner, and the students had a wonderful time together. Our youth volunteers put considerable time, efforts and enthusiasm into preparing and teaching the class, creating a fun and meaningful learning experience for the students. Our youth volunteers plan to continue with the summer science class program in the 2027 summer.
