On the afternoon of Saturday, August 1, 2026, members of the AYLUS Great Neck Branch gathered at the Great Neck Main Library to host a reading and craft program for local families. The event featured storytelling along with hands-on arts and craft activities, creating an engaging, overall educational experience for participants.
The program began with storytime, starting with Nathan, who read Bake Infinite Pie with X + Y, then Jolynn, who read I Am The Wind; and finally Ryder, who read The Broken Heart.
Following storytime, volunteers organized a variety of hands-on activities. Jolynn Li helped participants to make pom pom art, while Ryder Li, Austin Jiang, and Andrew Li helped in craft activities such as painting glass and origami, developing skills of coordination and creativity while creating a variety of objects. Victoria and Rainie helped in crochet, developing skills relating to patience and concentration.
