On the fifth of August the AYLUS Arts and Crafts team gathered at the Bryant Library with the collective goal to create KFIP bags and cards for NOSH. NOSH is a nonprofit organization that focuses on providing food for those in need.
The time volunteers spent workshopping was immensely worthwhile. The tasks we were given and worked on for only two hours we had transcended the simplicity of decoration. Pouring our hearts and souls into our work, we lighten the spirits of people receiving these items adorned with drawings and affirmations. By utilizing multiple mediums such as acrylic markers, colored pencils, and construction paper we were able to embellish paper bags and cards that were once bland and dull with breathtaking designs. To effectively execute this task one must channel their imagination, which the volunteers evidently demonstrated with their effort. Not only did this experience help the participants with artistic creativity, but they also learned about helping and doing good things for other people.
