Today at Ridge Oak, volunteers provided one-on-one technology support to a senior working on a video editing project. The resident wanted to reduce the volume of the audio in a YouTube video but was unsure how to do so. Volunteers explained the process by converting the video’s audio into an MP3 file, lowering the audio volume, and then using CapCut to replace the original audio with the edited version. Throughout the session, volunteers walked the resident through each step and explained how the editing process worked.
At today’s technology support session, volunteers helped the resident gain a better understanding of video editing while introducing practical techniques for managing audio in multimedia projects. Through patient guidance and hands-on instruction, the resident became more confident using editing software and exploring creative technology tools. The session also strengthened the connection between volunteers and seniors, reinforcing the supportive community at Ridge Oak.
