On Sunday, July 19, high school volleyball player and AYLUS Pearland volunteer Yurong Qiu taught a child from the community basic volleyball skills, and this is the third class.
Yurong taught Ingrid where to pass a volleyball, either higher, lower, closer to the net, or adjusting her platform. After Ingrid learned how to pass to a target, Yurong did some easy drills of tossing the ball deep and short, making her hold her platform and pass it to the target. Yurong also taught her how to serve receive. At the end, they worked on serving together, practicing serving to different areas of the court.
This lesson was very productive, as Ingrid learned how to pass in different directions and angles, while improving on specific techniques and volleyball skills. She had a lot of fun learning new skills and playing with older kids.
