On Saturday, July 11, 2026, the AYLUS Great Neck Branch hosted its weekly AAPI event at the Great Neck Main Library. The program began with volunteers reading children’s books. More specifically, Jiangyuan read “Grandpa’s 14 Games”, Nathan read “Sometimes We’re a Little Different”, and Ryder read “This Is Not My Home”. The children listened attentively and enjoyed each story. Following the reading, the children joined volunteers Jolynn, Jiangyuan, and Ryder in a sculpting and crocheting activity. Using their creativity, they crafted many adorable figures, including bears. Chloe helped out at the crochet station while Andrew created origami animals. Overall, the event was a success, providing an enriching experience where the volunteers and kids worked together.
