Fairfax Branch – AFAC Volunteer Event: Packaging Tomatoes 6/20/2026

On June 20, 2026, the AYLUS Fairfax Branch volunteered for AFAC (Arlington Food Assistance Center) and helped the organization pack fresh tomatoes into bags and crates.

AFAC is a 94% privately funded organization that utilizes volunteer work to serve over 4000 families in the Arlington area. It is committed to fighting hunger one meal at a time and ensuring underprivileged residents know where their next meal is coming from. AFAC is an inclusive program that serves the elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged people and families.

During the event, the AYLUS team worked together to pack tomatoes into bags. 5 tomatoes belonged in each bag, and each crate had ten bags. According to AFAC, the AYLUS team helped pack enough tomatoes to help over 400 families!

This event represents the AYLUS Fairfax Branch’s commitment to supporting our local community, especially when families need it most. Therefore, we believe our work for AFAC will help make many families happy.

Thank you to the AFAC team for assisting in coordinating this event. Thank you to Alicia Yee (1.5 hours), Aliana Yee (1.5 hours), and William Tian (1.5 hours) for attending!
