Today, we hosted an arts and crafts class for the LSA Special Needs Caring Center at the West Pearland Library. The theme of the class was “Love Languages.”
Fifteen adults with special needs attended the event, which was designed and led by our youth volunteers. During the icebreaker session, participants and volunteers introduced themselves and shared their favorite colors. They then worked together to create cascading heart cards featuring hearts in different colors. Participants were encouraged to write messages and draw pictures on the cards to express their love and appreciation for someone special in their lives.
At the end of the class, everyone came together to sing a simple song accompanied by sign language. The event concluded with a pizza lunch, providing an opportunity for participants and volunteers to socialize and celebrate their creativity.
