The AYLUS Birmingham Branch partnered with the Greater Birmingham Humane Society, an organization dedicated to providing contracted animal control services for Jefferson County, handling stray pickups, injured animal rescues, and aggressive animal responses. They investigate reports of animal neglect/abuse and work with owners to improve living conditions. GBHS also takes in surrendered pets, provides medical assessments/vaccinations, and houses them for adoption.
On June 20th, 2026, AYLUS Birmingham Branch members helped shred multiple newspapers, fold and sort laundry, and interact with the kittens.
