Event 136: AYLUS Morris Branch Partners with ECLC for Summer Clothing Donation Drive in June 2026

As summer began, members of the AYLUS Morris Branch partnered with ECLC of New Jersey (Education, Careers & Lifelong Community for children and adults with special needs) to support individuals and families in need through a community clothing donation drive. The project aimed to collect gently used summer clothing from local neighborhoods and provide them to ECLC, an organization that has been serving children and adults with special needs since 1970.

Over several weeks, AYLUS volunteers reached out to neighbors, friends, and community members to gather donations. Through their efforts and the generosity of local residents, the branch collected more than 100 pieces of summer clothing, including T-shirts, shorts, dresses, light jackets, and other seasonal apparel. Volunteers organized, sorted, and packed the donations to ensure they were clean and ready for distribution.

On June 19, 2026, at 12:00 p.m., AYLUS members delivered the collected clothing to ECLC. The donated items will help support individuals and families served by the organization, providing access to comfortable and appropriate clothing during the summer months. The delivery also gave volunteers an opportunity to learn more about ECLC’s mission and the important role it plays in helping people with special needs achieve greater independence and community inclusion.

This service project demonstrated the power of community collaboration and youth leadership. By collecting reusable clothing, volunteers not only helped those in need but also promoted environmental sustainability by reducing textile waste. The success of the drive was made possible through the combined efforts of dedicated AYLUS members and generous neighborhood donors.

AYLUS Morris Branch extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed clothing and supported the initiative. The branch looks forward to continuing its partnership with ECLC and organizing future service projects that make a positive impact on the local community.
