On June 19, 2026, members of the AYLUS Morris Branch partnered with the United Methodist Church in Green Village to organize a community small appliance donation drive. The initiative encouraged local residents to donate gently used household appliances that were no longer needed but still in good working condition. Through the support and generosity of neighbors throughout the community, AYLUS members successfully collected 40 small household appliances, including coffee makers, toasters, blenders, electric kettles, and other useful kitchen and home items.
Leading up to the event, AYLUS volunteers reached out to families in the neighborhood, explained the purpose of the drive, and coordinated the collection of donated items. Members carefully sorted and inspected the appliances to ensure they were clean and suitable for donation. On the morning of June 19 at 10:00 a.m., volunteers transported the collected items to the church, where they were received for distribution to individuals and families in need.
This service project provided a meaningful opportunity for young volunteers to support sustainability while helping members of the local community. By giving these appliances a second life, the drive helped reduce waste and encouraged responsible reuse of valuable household items. At the same time, it provided practical assistance to families who may be facing financial challenges and could benefit from essential home appliances.
The success of this project reflects the strong partnership between AYLUS Morris Branch, the United Methodist Church in Green Village, and local residents who were willing to contribute. Through teamwork, community engagement, and a shared commitment to service, the volunteers made a positive impact on the lives of others. AYLUS Morris Branch is grateful to everyone who donated and participated in the drive and looks forward to continuing similar service initiatives that strengthen and support the local community.
