On May 30, 2026, AYLUS Murrieta members recycled bottles and cans to support rescued animals at Lake Elsinore Animal Shelter.
The Lake Elsinore Animal Shelter provides temporary care, medical attention, and adoption services for homeless, abandoned, and stray animals in the area. The shelter works hard to ensure that animals receive proper care while they wait to find permanent, loving homes. In addition to caring for the animals, the shelter relies on donations and community support to help provide supplies and enrichment items that improve the animals’ quality of life.
Leading up to the event, members collected recyclable bottles and cans from their homes and neighborhoods. They sorted and stored the recyclables before bringing them to the recycling event. This recycling fundraiser is a long-standing service project that AYLUS Murrieta has supported since 2022. The proceeds generated from recycling the bottles and cans will be used to purchase much-needed supplies for the Lake Elsinore Animal Shelter, including food and treats for dogs and cats, toys, leashes, and other essential animal care items.
Through this project, members learned how everyday recycling efforts can benefit both the environment and the community.
