On Friday, May 23nd, the AYLUS Houston branch volunteered at Houston food bank to aid in their journey to fight food insecurity in the greater Houston area. Over three hours, members worked to create senior boxes, filled with grains, canned fruits, and canned tuna to be delivered to the elderly all around Houston. Members worked to reload the different stations with food, and helped carry items over, in order to make the process as seamless as possible.
We are very grateful for the volunteers that gave their time to contribute to helping the seniors in fighting food insecurity. Each member showcased strength and flexibility, allowing the Housotn Food Bank to function.
The volunteer’s dedication showcases their efforts put into helping the community, showcasing the overarching goal to give back. We are thankful to the Houston Food bank for the opportunity, and look forward to the next time we can give our efforts into helping the Houston Food Bank in their journey to eliminate food insecurity.
Volunteers (3 hours): Jason Wang, Stella Zhao
