On Friday, May 22, 2026, AYLUS of Oakland Gardens held its 227th event at the Kissena Park Soldiers Monument from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Some of our members had the honor of performing with the CYCNY Youth Orchestra at the Memorial Day Observance Korean War Memorial Ceremony hosted by Council Member Sandra Ung.
During this special Memorial Day event, our members used music to express their deepest respect and gratitude to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect our country. Their courage and dedication will never be forgotten, and our young musicians were honored to pay tribute to them through their performances. Our children, community, and nation will always remember and appreciate the contributions and sacrifices made by these heroes.
Throughout the ceremony, our members performed several musical selections together with the orchestra, including:

Our members performed each piece with great respect and sincerity in honor of the fallen heroes remembered on Memorial Day.
We would especially like to thank our parent advisor Karen Liao for leading and supporting our team throughout this meaningful performance opportunity. We would also like to sincerely thank Council Member Sandra Ung for providing our students with the opportunity to participate in such a special community event.
Music is not only an art form, but also a reflection of dedication, growth, passion, and remembrance. We are truly grateful for this meaningful experience for all of the young musicians who participated today.
