On April 21st, AYLUS members Madison and Daniel organized and hosted a cancer awareness booth at a local library.
In preparation for this event, the team had previously researched and organized key cancer-related topics for the month of April. These materials were then refined and compiled into clear, easy-to-understand flyers, making the information more accessible for community members.
During the event, volunteers distributed these flyers and engaged with visitors, helping them better understand important cancer prevention strategies. The goal of the activity was to raise awareness that many types of cancer can be prevented or detected early through proactive measures and healthy habits.
Over the course of the two-hour session, the booth attracted community interest and provided an opportunity for meaningful conversations. Overall, the event was a valuable outreach effort that promoted public awareness and encouraged preventative health practices within the community.
