AYLUS Roslyn Provides Food to Local Families Through NOSH Delivers Food Pantry (119th) on April 25th, 2026

On Saturday, April 25th, from 1:30–6:00 PM, the Roslyn Branch volunteered at Stop & Shop in Glen Cove to hold a food drive benefiting NOSH, a Long Island food pantry that supports local families in need.

During the event, volunteers stood outside the store and handed shoppers lists of requested donation items. We collected a variety of goods, including canned foods, pasta, rice, peanut butter, and fresh produce. After the drive, all donations were transported to NOSH for distribution to members of the community.

Many shoppers were happy to contribute and showed strong support for the cause. By the end of the afternoon, we had gathered over 30 boxes of donated food. Managing and sorting the donations took teamwork and coordination, and we were grateful to receive extra boxes from a Stop & Shop employee, Courtney, which helped us stay organized.

This service project allowed members to practice communication skills, cooperate as a team, and give back to those facing food insecurity. We appreciate everyone who donated and hope to continue supporting the community through future events.

Members who participated include: Austin Guo (4.5 hours), Wesley Qu (4.5 hours), Kristen Zheng (8 hours), Austin Wang (4.5 hours)
